Upon arriving for check-in, the first thing I noticed was the industrial sized garbage bag that full and laying in the middle of the lobby. The man at the front desk said my room was ready, but when I made it there, the door was wide open, full of sand, and had trash laying on the floor both inside and outside of the room. We then informed the front desk of the situation and the man let us stay in a different room. This second room, which was free of trash and debris, was still run-down and not structurally sound: pieces of the ceiling tiles and tub were chipping off, the air conditioning wouldn't turn off, there are dents and stains on the walls, and a large piece of molding is missing from the door frame. Also, the hallway and area in/around the building appeared dirty and unkempt. The next day, we went outside onto the balcony that overlooks the parking lot, only to find that dried blood was spattered across the entire balcony and the siding of the building. The fact that blood was dried up means that it has been there for a while without it being cleaned up. We were never directly informed of what happened until someone in my party overheard the man at the front desk talking about how a fight broke out the night before, resulting in two people being removed from the property. I wish I was kidding. The room itself seems to be free of bugs, but by no means is this worth the money considering the unsafe feeling brought about by staying here.
Made a reservation on 6/4/17. Had a confirmation number. While verifying my itinerary I found that my reservation had been cancelled by Econo Lodge and I never received any type of notification. When I called the hotel directly the man that answered (@ 8:00am on 6/14/17) said there was a "glitch in the booking system with the rate". He did not apologize. He did not offer to assist me in anyway with correcting the error on their part. Thank goodness I checked and did not drive 6 hours to find out that I did not have a room!!! Is this a bait and switch tactic? When you arrive they tell you that you do not have a reservation but offer you a room at a much higher rate?? Just awful. Will be taking my business away from Choice Hotels from now on.
Fantastic room for the price. Located within walking distance of boardwalk and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and professional. Breakfast this morning was good as well. Would definitely return.
Horrible. I booked a room for July just for the weekend. Paid for it with my credit card. I just so happened checked my statement and saw that I had a refund from Econo. I called them and they told me the reason the cancelled my reservation is because their system glitched and posted the wrong rate. So, because THEIR system was wrong, I get my room cancelled! I didn't even get a courtesy call explaining what happened or they could h ave honored the rates that they posted. I am extremely upset and now I either pay their rates which is now tripled or have to look somewhere else. What makes it worse, the "manager" was extremely rude and didn't even care. All he could say was "yep". I DO NOT recommend this hotel at all!
Stayed here as it was the best value. And for the money. It was exactly as expected. The staff was very nice and courteous. And the muffin for breakfast was good as well. My only complaint is that I didnt get clean towels the next morning, in fact I didn't get maid service,although I'm not sure it's even offered. The room was clean. The air conditioner has no controls and runs full blast. So the room was at a constant 65 degrees.
